July 24, 1945 – October 27, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward (Ned) Calvin Brake announce his peaceful passing at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Leaving to mourn with fond loving memories his loving wife of 49 years Margaret (Simms); daughters Meta (Ray) Perry; son Edward Jr. (Christa), Toby Brake and special daughter Jacqueline (Tommy); sisters Mercedes Rowsell, Annie (Phillip) Payne, Dinah (Ben) Crocker, Ruby (Don) Randell; brothers Robert (Joyce) and Albert; sisters in law: Jean, Olive, Dora (Don), Joyce (Fred), and Isabel; brothers in law: Rick Simms and Russel Snooks; 9 grandchildren: poppy's boy Ethan, Kennedy, Jack (Crystal), Trevor, Alex, Raymond, Rae-Lynn, Kevin and Tyler; 5 great grandchildren, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Dinah; 5 sisters; parents in law Cornelius and Meta Simms; 3 sister in laws; and 10 brothers in law. The family would like to thank Dr. Coleman, the Cancer Clinic and many nurses, Nicole Lafosse, sister Ruby, sister in law Isabel, and niece Dale for all of their love and support through this difficult time. At Edward's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from the hours of 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Michaels & All Angels Anglican Church on Park Drive at 2pm Monday, October 30, 2017 with Rev. Roberta Woodman officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations can be made to one's choice.
