We, the family of the late Yvonne Lillian Bourne extend our heartfelt graititude to everyone who offered support during this difficult time. Your phone calls, cards, visits, and thouhtful gestures meant so much. To those who attended Yvonnes celebration of life at Country Haven Funeral Home, we deeply appreciate your presence. The kind words and cherished memories shared would have brought her so much joy. A special thank you to the staff at Country Haven Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism in guiding us through this process. It is with broken and heavy hearts that the family of the late Yvonne Bourne announce her passing at her private residence, on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 at the age of 77 years. Yvonne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 53 years: Lindburg Bourne; daughter: Sherry Lynn (Craig); stepson: Keith (Jennifer); her precious grandchildren: Kaylee, Karissa, Milo, and Brett; sister: Myrtle; brother: Rank (Pauline); sisters-in-law: Elsie, Mary, Norma (Brian), Yvonne (Brian); and brother-in-law: Melvin (Patsy); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and many friends.
Yvonne was predeceased by her infant daughter: Baby Bourne; her parents: Jacob and Daisy Parsons; sisters: Ruby, and Mabel; infant brother: William; infant sister: Georgina; and her parents-in-law: Nathan and Eleanor Bourne.
Yvonne married Lindburg Bourne on February 5, 1971, and they were married for 53 years. For a short time after they were married, they lived in Gander. From there they moved to Corner Brook where they would raise their daughter, Sherry Lynn, and later her stepson, Keith. Corner Brook became her home, she truly loved living here, and together with Lind, they built a good life for themselves and their family. Yvonne was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. She loved her family and was very proud of them all. She was especially proud when she was blessed with her beautiful grandchildren. She loved them dearly and loved every minute spent with them. Yvonne's memories will live on. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
At her request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place on Friday, January 24th, 2025 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 7-9 PM. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Yvonne's memory to a charity of one's choice.
