The family of the late Willie Parsons wishes to extend a sincere thank you everyone who called, messaged, sent food, and cards; as well as to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Corner Brook Long Term Care Center for your kindess and compassion during Willie's time of need. It is with great sadness that the family of the late William "Willie" Vates Parsons announce his passing on September 8 ^th , 2022 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Center at the age of 72 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Kate (Helma) of 50 years; his children: Tammy Goulding (Wallace Loder), Julie Parsons (Eric Burden), Tina White, and Byron Parsons (Rita Atkinson); grandchildren: Hayley (Kyle), Carley, Kira, Andrew, Shia, Britney (James), Sean (Meghan), Dylan (Mercedes), Zachary (Stephanie), Alex (Taysha), Cage (Brooklyn), Katie, William, Bradley, Ashley, and Emily; great-grandchildren: Bentley, Xavier, Star Lily, Kingsley, and Jayden; brothers and sisters: May (John), Freeman (Edwina), Marie (Wycliff), Eric (Bobbie), Joan (Robert), Agnes (Ronnie), Hazel (Leonard), Randy (Rosemary), Tony (Sandra), Laverne (Bernie), Beverly, and Sam. Willie is predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Doris Parsons; mother-in-law, Winnie Penney; as well as his son-in-law, Tom White. There will be a visitation on Saturday, September 10 ^th , 2022 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where a funeral service will take place on Sunday, September 11 ^th , 2022 at 3 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Flowers are graciously accepted, or in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Society in Willie's memory.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Corner Brook Long Term Care for their exceptional care during Willie's time there; especially to the Protective Care and CVA Unit. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
