Johnnie Howell (December 5, 1949 - December 2, 2021)

Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Palliative Care Unit on December 2, 2021, in the presence of his loving family, Johnnie Howell of Corner Brook, formerly of Northern Bay, age 71 years. Predeceased by his parents, Cyril and Mollie Howell, sister-in-law, Margie Howell. He leaves to mourn his wife Donna; two sons Jamie and Daron (Amanda) both of St. John's and special granddaughter, Tabitha; stepdaughter, Deanna Webb (Jason): stepson, Jimmy Webb, step-grandson, Brendan Webb; three brothers Aidan (Margie), Foxtrap, Pat, Northern Bay and Chris (Cindy) Northern Bay; three sisters, Mary (Brendan White), Northern Bay, Betty (Bob Taylor) Tennessee, and Helen (Jerry Delaney) Burnt Point; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Noel Lanoix (Richard), Austin Patey (Bernice) and Chris Patey (Joan); as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Johnnie had a distinguished career as an educator in the K-12 system and post-secondary system in various communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. He recently retired from Academy Canada in Corner Brook. Johnnie was a very caring, sociable and generous person to all who knew him. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial for their excellent care during his time there; also, to Fr. Terry for his many visits and prayers. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Monday, December 13th, 2021 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Funeral and interment to take place at a later date. There are no flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in Johnnie's memory may be made to the Western Long Term, Palliative Care Unit.
