Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ward Jones announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at his private residence in Pasadena, NL surrounded by his loving family, in his 78th year of age. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 61 years: Joan Colson; daughter: Pauline Petley, of Toronto, ON; sons: Ernest Colson (Betty), David Colson (Paula), and Jeffery Colson (Michelle), all of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren: Nicholas, Kyla, Stephanie, Christopher, Alysha, Tristen, and Michael; great-grandson: Hunter; and siblings: Ann, Rita, Beatrice, Genevieve, Olive (Don), Junior (Barb), and Tom (Sheila); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Ward is predeceased by his parents: Ernest and Bridget Jones; special mention: Sadie Colson; siblings: Kevin, Patrick, Clifford, Nathan, and Madeline; and his son-in-law: Gord.

The most important thing Ward valued in his life, was his family and friends. His kindness and humour were felt by all who knew him.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, January 25th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 10 AM – 12 PM, and 1 PM – 3:30 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 3:30 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Father Terry officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Ward's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Diabetes Canada.
