It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, Walter Freeman Hynes, at the age of 67 years. Walter passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital. Walter is survived by his sisters: Mary Pynn, Diane Hynes, Susan Ralph (Darrell), Donna Campbell (Leonard), and Julie Slavin (Dennis) of Clarenville, NL; brothers: Brian Hynes (Lorraine) of Oshawa, ON, Paul Hynes (Marion), and David Hynes; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Walter is predeceased by his parents: William Robert Hynes (2021), and Elsie Lillian Hynes (2010); brothers: Clyde James Hynes (2012), Robert Bruce Hynes (2013), and Wayne Edgar Hynes (2024); brother-in-law: Will Pynn (2019); and sister-in-law: Mary Hynes (nee. Peddle) (2007).

At Walter's request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place on Friday, July 12th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of and 7-9 PM. There will be no formal funeral service. Interment to take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at Mount Patricia Cemetery with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Walter's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
