It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Walter Charles Childs announce his passing at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Long Term Care Facility on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the age of 75 years.  He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 49 years, Bertha (nee Sheppard) Childs.  His daughters:  Gloria (Albert Park), Vanessa (Rick Berry). His sisters: Effie (Daniel) Sheppard, Helen (Ross) Joyce, Martha (Lorne) Joyce, Christina (Gordon) Hartwig. His brothers:  Gerald (Myra) Childs, Roland (Lana) Childs.  His brothers-in-law: Samuel (Cassie) Sheppard, Paul (Ruby) Sheppard, Carl (Wavey) Sheppard, Peter Sheppard. His sisters-in-law: Lillian (Charles) Kendell, Melina (Wayde) Joyce, Karen Sheppard.  His special furry friends: Cody, Sandy, Sol-leks; special cousins:  Roland Kendell, Effie White; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Walter was predeceased by his parents Richard Childs and Pearl Kendell.  At Walter's request, cremation has taken place.  There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment will be at a later date.  As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
