It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vincent Power Sr. announce his passing on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit in his 94th year.

He leaves to mourn with precious and loving memories, his beloved wife of 62 years: Mary (nee. Gregory); children: Mary Hicks (Stephen), and Vince Power (Keri O'Rourke); four grandchildren: Madeline Hicks (Brian), Rebecca O'Rourke (Brendan), Jordan Power, and Daniel Power; and one great-grandchild: Harrison O'Rourke; as well as a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

Vincent Power is predeceased by his parents: Mary and Michael Power; his son: Michael Power; brothers: Ambrose, and Arthur; sister: Pauline Duggen; mother and father-in-law: Mary and William Gregory; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles and Patricia Gregory, and Kevin Willett.

Vince was born in Tors Cove, NL to Mary and Michael Power. He completed his schooling and went on to further his education several times. He became a teacher working in St. John's, Flat Rock, and many other communities, an accountant in Labrador and Corner Brook, and then later became a cook and manager with Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.

Anyone who knew Vince, knew he was a man of great character with a kind, and gentle soul. He was selfless and showed great integrity. He was devoted to his faith and was deeply involved with his church; from being alter boy, to a communion minister. Vince's greatest love of all though, was his family. His greatest pleasure in life was to nurture them, and watch them grow. His passing has left a great void within our family.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 10 AM on Thursday, August 24th, 2023 at the Most Holy Redeemer Church. Cremation to take place. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Vince's memory to your local SPCA.
