Vera Jane
Lidstone
August 30, 1923 – January 19, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that the family of our dear mother, Vera Jane Lidstone, announce her passing on Thursday, January 19 th , 2023 at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit at the age of 99 years. Left to mourn with so many warm and loving memories are her 10 children: Everett (Joan), Bruce (Therese), Wayne, Harold (Judy), Beverly, Robert (Judy), Eric, Karen (Sam), Eugene and Kimberley (Shawn); 19 grandchildren: Huey, Joanne, Barbara, Lisa, Terri-Lynn, Bruce, Chadwick, Diane, Justin, Jamie, Jeanette, Stacey, Texas, Bobbi, Harold, Calen, Bradley, Shane, and Drew; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her brother: George (Wanda); and sisters-in-law: Dorothy, and Mildred; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Vera is predeceased by her husband: Ralph Lidstone (1997); parents: George and Susannah Pike; parents-in-law: Theophilus and Annie Lidstone; grandson: Bruce Lidstone; daughter-in-law: Marion Lidstone; siblings: Daffodil, Sylvia, Joseph, Wesley, Lesley, and Eugene.
There will be a visitation held at St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour, on Sunday, January 22 nd , 2023 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, and Monday, January 23 rd , 2023 from 10 AM – 12 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made to the St. James Anglican Church fund in Vera's memory.
Our family would like to thank moms personal care workers: Wanda Sheppard, Kim Herritt, Judy Lidstone, and Angela Lidstone; who showed so much care and compassion to our amazing mother over the last 6 years. A special thank you to everyone who sent messages, made phone calls, sent cards, and food, or sent along their condolences; and also to the staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, the Palliative Care Unit, and to Rev. Effie Organ.
