It is with profound sadness, and heavy hearts that the family of the late Theresa Marie Carew (nee. Gardiner), announce her passing on July 18, 2025 at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit at the age of 61 years, after a courageous battle of multiple health issues.

Theresa was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend.  She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters; Marie (Alan) and Tonya (Richie). Her sister; Joan. Her brothers; Kevin, Ray (Shirley), and John.  Her brother-in-law; Darren. Sister-in-law; Debbie and special friend Sonia (Jimmy Carew).  As well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.

Theresa is predeceased by her husband; Monty Carew (1988), Her father; Clarence Gardiner (2002). Her mother; Mary Gardiner (2023). Her partner of 22 years; Roy Williams (2013). Her mother-in-law; Barbara (Carew) Nash (2019) and her brother-in-law; Larry McKay (2021) and brother-in-law Donald Walsh (2025).

Theresa was a quiet woman who enjoyed the simple things life had to offer, such as, music and watching television, spending time with family and her precious pets; Harley, Lucky, Coco, and Brody who were the joy of her life. She loved a nice cup of tea and had a sense of humour never to be forgotten.

Special thanks to Dr. Mottay, and the staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, as well as the staff at the Health Science Centre in St. John's who gave Theresa such special care during her stay. Also, a special thank-you to Country Haven Funeral Home for their kindness during this most difficult time.

There will be a visitation held at Country Haven Funeral Home on Monday July 21st 2025 from the hours of 2-4PM and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Curling on Tuesday July 22nd 2025 at 10:30AM with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
