It is with great sadness that the family of the late Terry Thomas Young announce his sudden passing on Friday, October 25th, 2024, in John's Beach, NL, at the age of 57 years. Left with broken hearts are his daughter: Megan Young (Cody Kelly); granddaughter: Josephine Kelly, all of Miramichi, NB; his loving partner whom he spent the last 10 years with: Cindy McCarthy; his dear brother and best friend: Jan Young (Tania Young) of Burlington, ON; his nieces and nephews: Alex, Ellen, and Emily Young, who he was very proud of and held near and dear to his heart; his partners children: Lesley, and Nicholas McCarthy; as well as a large circle of other relatives, coworkers past and present, the McCarthy family, and many, many friends.

Terry is predeceased by his parents: Goodwin and Netta Young; and his son: Michael Young.

Terry, originally of Ontario, spent 17 years working for Irving Tissue before he decided to move to Newfoundland where he would spend the next 11 years with his partner Cindy, while working at Aromas Restaurant in Corner Brook. Terry made a great friend, was always there to help, and he always tried his best. He was happiest when he was in a boat, cruising across the water. Having fished all the lakes in the Trent-Severn Waterway, the Great Lakes, New Brunswick, and then to Newfoundland; he was always ready with his fishing rod in hand. As much as Terry loved fishing, there was no one he would rather have on one of his adventures than his brother, and best friend, Jan. Their excursions were endless, from the summers spent at the cottage, many fishing trips, hunting, and sledding – from boys to adults, there were many great memories made that will forever be cherished.

At Terry's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Terry's memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
