Callahan
January 30, 1962 – August 26, 2023
In loving memory of Stephen Francis Callahan – born on January 30, 1962, who passed suddenly on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Steve shared 37 beautiful years of marriage with his cherished wife, Patricia Callahan, creating a bond that exemplified friendship, love and devotion.
Steve is survived by his son, Jamie Callahan (Jasmin) and daughter Shanna Callahan (Christopher Amodeo) and his shared light – his grandchildren Olivia and Liam. Steve's close-knit family brought him immense joy and pride, reflecting the depth of his love and influence on those around him.
He leaves to mourn his brother Eddy (Mimie), sister Jos (Dave), brother Rod (Susan), sister Bev (Lloyd), sister Bernie (Lloyd) and his brother Greg (Tracey). Steve was fortunate in that he was more of a son than a son-in-law joining another full family as a son and a brother – leaving behind his father-in-law Kevin (Skipper) and mother-in-law Gwen (Mudder), brother John (Pauline), brother Bob (Liz) and sister Terry (Blair).
Steve was predeceased by his parents Edward and Serenna and brother Wayne. Steve also leaves behind a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to remember him in love.
Steve proudly served 30+ years in the Canadian Armed Forces. He did one year post in Zagreb, Croatia (formerly known as Yugoslavia) in 1994-1995. He also did two tours in Afghanistan; one in 2004-2005, and one in 2011. As a proud Newfoundlander, Steve's roots ran deep, connecting him to a vibrant heritage that he valued dearly. His passion for running marathons showcased his determination and zest for life, inspiring those around him to embrace challenges with vigor.
As we remember Steve, let us hold onto the memories of a man who epitomized family values, celebrated his origins and faced life's journey with unwavering strength. His legacy will forever inspire us to cherish our loved ones and embrace life's adventures.
