There will be a visitation taking place on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 at Country Haven Funeral Home from 1-3 PM, where Rev. John van Vliet will be joining us for prayer. Following the visitation all are welcomed to join the family for coffee and tea in the Country Haven common area, before we head to Mount Patricia Columbarium Park to have dear Stan laid to rest.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Raymond "Stanley" Kelloway, age 93 years at Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre on November 16, 2024. Stan lived a long and happy life, and passed peacefully with family by his side.

Stan was born September 26, 1931 to Jessie (Vincent) and Eli Kelloway in Wesleyville, Newfoundland and was the eldest of seven children. He graduated from high school and attended teacher college but found that teaching really wasn't his calling. In 1950 he moved with his family to Corner Brook and soon thereafter found his calling in sales. He worked early in his career with Eaton's in the furniture department before finding his real passion in car sales. Stan had a 40-year career in car sales and was well known in the business across the island and Atlantic Canada.

In 1954, Stan married the love of his life, Margaret Louise Bartlett. They laid down their roots in Corner Brook with their families. Margaret also came from a large family and their strong bond with their families meant that all special occasions and summer vacations involved activities that brought the families together. His love of the outdoors including camping, combing beaches, picking berries, skiing, snowshoeing and having cook ups or tea over an open fire brought great joy and opportunities for family members to gather.

Stan and Margaret had five children and instilled upon them the importance of family and as well as the importance of contributing to the community. Stan was actively involved in minor hockey in Newfoundland for over 2 decades and was instrumental in supporting youth participation in the sport. If a young person was in need of a hockey stick or equipment, he made it happen. He supported opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills and to give back to the community.

Stan was a big sports fan and a regular at all the Royals and Barons games. He cheered faithfully for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago White Sox and always knew all the hockey and baseball statistics and players. His mother-in-law once said Stan could find a hockey game on a washing machine. He also regularly attended his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities and was proud of every goal scored or point made. It brought him great joy to attend a Royals hockey game through the Making Memories Program.

Stan and Margaret had a passion for travel and enjoyed many trips to Europe, South America and all across North America. He particularly liked learning new cultures and the history of the countries. After retirement they enjoyed their motor home travels on the island with family and friends.

Stan was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. While his last couple of years were challenging, he had a long and interesting life, much of it with family around him. He never lost his playful sense of humour and enjoyed visitors and his daily interactions with staff.

Leaving to mourn his children; June Kelloway-Tarrant (Mario), Raymond (Mary Beth Doyle), Darrell (Marilyn), Bonnie Randell (Dave). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren; Sheridan, Erica, Danielle, Darrell (Ashley) Jared (Megan) Justin (Elly) Devin (Heather), Chad, Rebecca. Great Grandchildren Timothy, Oliver, Carter, Lennon, Aiden. His sisters: Arlene Beales, Lillian Hillier (Jake), Daisy Burke (Lambert), Neta Kelloway. His brother Eli Kelloway (Dorothy). Sisters in Law; Myrtle Horwood, Marilyn Pearce (Anthony), Laura Bartlett. Brothers in law: Willis Bartlett, Ronald Bartlett (Brenda), Edward Brake. Stan is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Stan was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Margaret Louise Bartlett Kelloway; son William Gerald Kelloway; parents Eli and Jessie Kelloway; parents in-laws Sheridan and Theresa Bartlett; Sister Daphne Brake; brothers in law: Robert Beales, Ralph Bartlett, Reginald Gillingham, Duke Horwood, Gord Regular; Sisters in law: Maisie Regular, Sandra Bartlett, Renie Gillingham, Paula Bartlett.
