It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sean Clare announce his peaceful passing on July 3, 2026, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 64. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his daughter, Maria (Tyler); brothers Brian and Derek; sister Maureen (Earl); as well as a close circle of relatives and friends. Sean was predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Gordon Clare.

Beyond his many accomplishments, Sean will be remembered for the simple joys that brought him happiness. He loved a good game of poker, enjoyed spending time on the hockey rink, and was always eager to discover a great meal or try a new restaurant. A dedicated teacher for 30 years, Sean spent much of his career on Fogo Island, where he taught primary and elementary students. He found genuine joy in helping young minds learn and grow, and his patience, kindness, and sense of humour left a lasting impression on the many students and families whose lives he touched.

The family would like to express gratitude to the health care professionals at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, especially the staff of Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Unit, for their compassionate care, kindness, and support.

There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. His final resting place will be at Montgomerie Street cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Cancer Care foundation.
