It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the family of the late Sarah "Sadie" Rita Carew announce her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the age of 88 years.  Left to mourn are her children: special daughter: Trudy Gallant (Russell), and Sandra Maddigan (Roderick); her son: Michael Carew (Mary); 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her sisters: Mary Schultz, Mary Hynes (Wayne), Linda Hutchings, and Patsy Decker; sister-in-law: Mildred Walsh; and other extended family members, too many to mention, but know you are in our thoughts; also, her many friends from the Forestside Manor and Corner Brook Long Term Care-Gooseberry Lane Unit.  She was loved by them all.  Sadie is predeceased by her husband: Michael "Mike" Carew (2015); son: Jack (2014); sisters: Gertrude (2018), Ona, and Barbara "Barb" (2017); and her brothers Michael Walsh (2021), Jerome Walsh, Patrick Walsh, and John Walsh.

As per Sadie's wishes cremation will take place.  A visitation will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, April 20 ^th , 2023 at Country Haven Funeral Home from where the service of remembrance will take place at 2 PM with Father Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mt Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Sadie's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association ( https://www.diabetes.ca/ ).

In the last part of her life's journey Sadie was blessed to have been cared for by the nursing staff and doctors of Gooseberry Lane CBLTC, and we extend a huge thank you to them.
