Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Sandra Bennett (Newman) courageously fought cancer with strength, determination and grace until her final moments on Satuday, April 4th 2026 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Long-term Care in Corner Brook.

Sandra was the heart of her family — a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a constant source of light, comfort and laughter. Her love was unwavering, her presence grounding, and her spirit unforgettable. Sandra had the warmest hugs, kindest words, and gave the most selfless acts of care, she made everyone around her feel deeply loved. She faced her diagnosis with incredible bravery, showing strength and resilience in the most difficult moments. Through it all, she continued to give love, support those around her, and to remind us what true strength looks like.

She will be greatly missed by her supportive and loving family, her husband of 25 years Bob (Robert)  Bennett, Mother, Frances Newman, Daughter, Paula (Christopher) Son, Michael (Valerie), Step Daughter Melanie (Barry), Step Son Stephen (Katelyn).
