It is with great sadness that the family of the late Samuel George Greene announce his passing at the Western Long-Term Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 at the age of 72 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his daughter: Samantha Greene (Gabrielle); grandchildren: Tyler (Olivia), Raeanne, and Amethyst (River); great-grandchildren: Macie, Aubree, Jack, Cooper, Lexie, and Penelope; his dear mother: Marie Greene; step-children: Paul Greene, and Heather Jennix; siblings: Bill (Beverly), Norma Ellsworth (Lee), Steve (Debbie), Neta Kean (Jim), and Lillian Smith (Dan); as well as his very special friend: Genevieve Perrier; and a large circle of many other relatives, and friends.
Sam was predeceased by his loving wife: Donna Greene (2023).
Sam was a Royal Canadian Navy Veteran and an active member in the Royal Canadian Legion-Branch 13, Corner Brook. He absolutely loved the outdoor life. Hunting and fishing were among his favourite past times. He cherished his many mornings enjoying breakfast with his friends at McDonalds. He also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking molasses buns, bottling sauerkraut, and cooking up many other creations. Sam was always the designated turkey carver, and made it known, that no one else was allowed to touch the turkey! He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather; his great-grandchildren were the absolute highlight of his life. Lastly, Sam cherished his "grand-dog-ters" as they were affectionately known by the whole family: Hollybeary, and Kaia.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service taking place. There will be a private graveside service for both Sam and Donna to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Sam's memory to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
