The family of the late Roy Sheppard would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to family and friends who reached out during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff at Carbonear General Hospital for their compassion and care during his stay. Final thanks to Dwayne and the staff of Country Haven funeral home for making the entire process seamless for the entire family.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roy Frederick Sheppard at the age of 82. He peacefully passed away with his family by his side on November 10, 2024, at the Carbonear General Hospital. He was born on March 18, 1942 in York Harbour to Horace and Irene Sheppard.
Roy lived a full and complete life, he was very passionate with the great outdoors; he spent the most of his life outdoors whether it was at work (in the woods, guiding camps or carpentry) or at play (hunting and fishing) and spending countless hours at the cabin.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 62 years: Madonna; sons: Darren (Claudine), Todd (Judy) and David (Viola); grandchildren: Neil, Natasha (Peter), Matthew, Darren (Laura), Ryan, Carrie, Nathan, Aimee, and Nolan; and several great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister: Catherine (Larry); and brother: Ivan; sisters-in-law: Bernice (Bill), Joy, Wanda (Fred), Debbie (Brent), Sherry (Randy), Marina, Hazel and Christine; and brothers-in-law: Clarence (Wendy), and Wade (Kit).
Roy is predeceased by his son: Roger; parents: Horace and Irene Sheppard; parents-in-law: George and Mary Kendell; brothers: Gerald, Harold, Eric, and George; sisters, Dorothy, Florence, and Barbara; brothers-in-law: Gerald, Garf, Bud, and Terry; brothers-in-law: Frank and Leonard; and sisters-in-law: Grace, Evelyn and Cora.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the outstanding care provided by the staff at the Carbonear General Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be taking place on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour, NL at 11 AM with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. There will be a reception at the church following the funeral service, from where we will head to Mount Patricia Cemetery to have dear Roy laid to rest. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Roy's memory to a charity of one's choice.
