Roy Hoyles

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roy “Tootie” Hoyles announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Center on Sunday, August 30th, 2026 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife of 66 years: Ann (nee. Clarke); their children: Angela Lawrence (Graham) of Port aux Basque, and Rory Hoyles of Corner Brook; his adorable grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Ryan (Diana Park), Jay (Sabrina), Andrea (Wallace), and Micah (Todd's son); great-grandchildren: Riley, and Oaklynn; all of Corner Brook; brothers: Lester (Sheila), and David (Thelma); sisters: Jean, Pearl (Duey), May (Len), and Margie; brothers-in-law: Ray, Dale, Gary, and Wayne; sisters-in-law: Donna, Doris, Sharon, Sandra, and Marie Hoyles; daughter-in-law: Sara Yetman; and good friend: Andy Pittman; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Roy was predeceased by his son: Todd; parents: Ephraim and Esmeralda (nee. Davis); brothers: Gerald, Wilfred (Hackie), Cecil, and Wally; sisters-in-law: Helen, and Bride; brothers-in-law: Peter Meloche, Terry Clarke, and Wince Canning; and parents-in-law: Alfred and Maizie Clarke.

Thank you to the staff of Corner Brook Long Term Care for taking care of Roy during his stay and as well as a thank you to Country Haven Funeral Home for their care and compassion to our family and dear father. 

In following Roy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, a donation can be made in Roy’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
