March 24, 1933 – July 12, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Ronald Greene announce his passing at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Health on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the age of 92 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Ronald Greene Jr (Joy), Linda (Gerard), David Greene, Violet O'Keefe (Bernie), Rick Greene (Darlene), Barb Hynes (Jim), Maria Companion (Rob), Denise Chrismas, and Dan Greene (Mia); 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; his sisters: Frances Newman, and Mercedes; sister-in-law: Veronica Green; and his brother-in-law: Joe Connolly; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Ron was predeceased by his wife of 67 years Bridget Greene: his parents: Daniel and Violet Green (Nee. Careen); brothers: George Greene (Geneieve), and Dom (Barb); sisters: Mary Jones (Kevin), Rita Connolly, and Della Greene; brothers-in-law: Michael Newman, Steve Christopher, Ray Hackett (Frances), Pat Hackett (Noreen) and Ben Hackett (Cedella); sister-in-law: Dorothy (Timothy) Quigley, and Frances (Lesley) Pennell, sons-in-law: Brian O'Keefe, and Tom Chrismas; and his grandchild: Nancy Companion.
Family was at the heart of everything Ron did. His love for his beloved late wife Bridget, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren was constant and unconditional, a true reflection of the man he was. A special thank you to all the staff on 4B, and the palliative care unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion.
Visitations will be held from Country Haven Funeral Home Monday, July 14, 2025 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Benoits Cove on Tuesday, July 15, at 2:30 pm. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
