January 14, 1950 – October 18, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Cyril Gillingham announce his passing on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL at the age of 73 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife: Tracy Gillingham (nee. Skiffington), and their two fur babies: Nasa, and Nova; his daughters: Janice Nippard (Paul) of Gander, NL, Sherri Rudolph (Dwight) of Moncton, NB, and Alexis Parsons (Pat McCarthy) of Gander, NL; his siblings: Brian (Daphne), Marie (Ron Harris), Morley (Olive), Patsy (Isaac Gillingham), Gonzo (Glennis), Ernest (Evelyn), Kerry (Bonnie), Gwin (Myra), Debbie (Gary Gillingham), and Jackie (Woody Bessey); his two precious grandchildren: Bradley Nippard, and Alaina Rudolph; parents-in-law: Hilda & Ray Paul; and sister-in-law: Mary Gillingham; as well as the Hillier family; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.
Ron is predeceased by his first wife, Betty Gillingham (nee. Hillier); their daughter: Deanne; his parents: Howard (Clarke's Head, NL), & Violet (nee. Nippard - Deep Bay, NL); sister: Pauline; brother: Arch; sisters-in-law: Jackie Gillingham, and Marjorie Hillier; brothers-in-law: James Day, Eldred Gillingham, Lloyd Hillier, and Bernard Fancey; nephews: Rodney Day, and Tyson Gillingham; niece: Trudy Nippard; great-nephew: Jamie Ray Faulkner; and his parents-in-law: Lester & Irene Hillier.
There will be a visitation held on Friday, October 20th, 2023 at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander, NL from the hours of 2-4 PM, and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at St. Martin's Cathedral, Gander, NL at 2 PM with Rev. Mark Kingsbury officiating. Interment to follow at the All Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Ron's memory to your local SPCA or the Autism Society (https://asnl.ca/).
