It is with great sadness the family of the late Roland Nelson Young announce his passing on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 78th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 54 years: Mary Young (nee. Wall); his good feathered buddy "Buddy Bird"; sister-in-law, who was more like a sister: Eileen Morgan (Greg); brother: Bernell Anstey (Brenda); sisters: Ella Doyle-Mills, Fanny Whalen, Melida (Jerry), Pearl Loder, and Roslyn Sweetapple (Bob); brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray Wall (Doreen), Doreen Skeard, Ern Wall (Karen), Beryl Vincent (Al), and Glenda Haynes; his mother: Dorothy Noel; and his extended family: Art Jones (Mary), Audrey Gillard, Willie Jones (Mary), and Eli Gillard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Roland is predeceased by his loving grandparents who raised him: Henry and Naomi Young; and his brothers: Cliff Young (Bess), and Ralph Young (Emma).

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 from the Salvation Army Temple with Major Brian Wheeler officiating. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, instead a donation can be made in Roland's memory to the Janway or Salvation Army Temple, Corner Brook.
