Rodney Frederick

May 5, 1963 – May 29, 2022
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Rodney Frederick Wells announce his passing in his hometown of Cox's Cove, NL, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, May 29 th , 2022 at the age of 59 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Marina Wells; his daughters, also known as 'Rod Wells' girls': Jennifer (David), Judy (Nico), and Nikki (Joey); his pride and joy-his precious grandchildren: Jenica, David, Sommer, Jenny, Lillian, Julie, and Dawson; his special buddies: Stephen Park, and Glen Kane; siblings: Donna (Claude), Kirby (Sandy), Lewis (Ramona), Bradley (Lorraine), and Rendall (Donna); brother-in-law, George (Lorna); and mother and father-in-law, Lorraine and David Best. Rodney is predeceased by his parents Noble and Virginia Wells, his brother Donald Wells, and special nephew Cameron Payne.
Rodney was a lover of all things outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, riding quad, snowmobiling, or even going for a ride in dory. Through the years he has shared all his passions with his grandchildren. This included rabbit catching, setting homemade crab pots, cutting the winters wood, or making a bonfire up at the cabin. He truly loved his grandbabies and their early morning wake up calls, daily visits, and bus stop pickups. He loved treating them with surprise packs from the store, and they knew to always give Pop the lollipops. Rodney enjoyed his music; from country to gospel. It was one of his favourite things.
There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, June 1, and Thursday, June 2, at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Cox's Cove from the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on Friday, June 3, at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Rodney's memory to the St. Nicholas Anglican Church or to the Well's family.
"So now he is at rest, fly high like the eagle and sing with the angels. You will be missed dearly, and loved forever."
