It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert "Rob" Winston Gillett announce his untimely passing on Monday, December 25th, 2023 in Corner Brook, NL at the young age of 52 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife: Lori; their children: Katelyn and Devan; parents: Winston and Marion Gillett; siblings: Raymond (Lorraine), Barbara Simmonds (Keith), and David (Terrilynn); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Rob is predeceased by his beloved son: Zachary Gillett (2023).

Rob worked as a site superintendent in construction for over 30 years of his life, and was well known in the industry for his great work ethic. He loved hunting, and fishing, and it was a major part of his life growing up. He enjoyed doing it in any free time he could get. Even though Rob worked and lived away for many years, his heart was always home here in Newfoundland. He always said he would retire back here with his family one day.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held on Friday, January 5th, 2023 from the hours of 1 PM - 3 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 3 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, however; if one wishes, a donation can be made to Rob's family to help with expenses during this difficult time, by sending donations to bsimmonds@wajax.com .
