Robert "Bob"
Brake
February 14, 1953 – November 21, 2024
Robert "Bob" Brake passed away suddenly at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday November 21st, 2024 at the age of 71 years. He flew to meet the angels to join his family and friends.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Sons; Michael (Brittany) and Andrew (Leah). Daughter; Jenny (Pierre). His darling grandchildren; Kiersten, Katie, Rebecca, Reece, James and Kevin. He will be sadly missed by his siblings; Walter and Betty (Archie) as well as family from Trout River, Parsons Pond and Wiltondale
Awaiting his arrival in heaven were his parents Maitland and Minnie Brake (Nee Buffett). Sister-in-law; Lucretia and his precious girl Molly.
Bob was born in Trout River and moved to Gilliam's at the young age of 10 years old. He grew up loving hunting and fishing with his dad in the bay of islands. He has a passion for darts and made many trips across the island for provincial tournaments. His favorite place on earth was his little haven in Taylor's Brook where he would salmon fish by summer and rabbit catch, moose hunt by fall with his great friend Wayne Robinson. He will greatly missed by his many dart friends as he would often be called on to be Captain for local teams.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Riley Penton who stopped to help Bob, the paramedics who got him to the hospital safely and the many doctors and nurses for all their efforts in Bob's care.
There will be a visitation at Country Haven Funeral Home on Monday November 25th, 2024 from the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 Pm and 7:00 - 9:00 Pm. At Bobs request cremation will follow. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date.
"We are all stories in the end, remembered by the adventures we had, the achievements we made and the people we loved so make sure your story is a good one."
