Rita was a very strong-willed woman who was extremely proud of, and fiercely loved the family and home that she and her husband, Joe, created together. She always had the ability to provide another seat at the table for anyone who dropped by for a visit. When tough times had touched the family, a common phrase by Rita was, "it'll all work out in the wash." Washing was a central theme in Rita's life as one of the things she was well known for was her impeccable line of clothes. For anyone who was blessed to enter the home, they were met with the smell of Downey and a string of knitted baby sweater sets made with love by Rita for any babies that was in some way, shape, or form connected to our family. While Rita will not be able to greet you at the door anymore, her family are quite confident that she would still want anyone who enters the family home to always feel welcomed and remember her fondly.
