It is with great sadness that the family of the late Richard Lafitte announce his passing on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 at his private residence in Corner Brook, at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his spouse: Jean Lafitte; children: Suzanne (Barry), and Michael (Maria); granddaughters: Ashley, Emily, Nevaeh, and Adriana; sisters: Valda Simmons (Dave), Joan Tucker (Brian), and Jenny Matheson (Rick); his brother: David Lafitte; special cousin: Leo Mitchell; and special former son-in-law: Shane; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Richard is predeceased by his parents: Emile and Monica Lafitte; brothers: Gregory Lafitte, John Lafitte (Maureen), Jerome Lafitte (Mary), and Derm Lafitte; and his sisters: Irene Lafitte, and Geraldine Rumbolt (Denny).

At his request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be taking place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 from the hours of 7-9 PM. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, instead a donation can be made in Richard's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
