Obituary

Richard Roland Joseph Boisvert of Colbolt, Ontario, passed suddenly on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at his home in Cox's Cove, NL with his wife of 25 years, Alice Jones by his side. Richard is predeceased by his father: Roland Boisvert; and mother: Monique Rodriques (Boisvert) of Colbolt, ON. Richard will be fondly remembered by his wife: Alice Jones; step-mother: Barbara Boisvert; brother: Martin; sister-in-law: Susan; nephew: Jacob; sister: Carole; step-daughters: Dale, Deanna, and Denise; stepson: Desmond; son-in-law: Moses; grandchildren: Felicia, Trevor, Travis, Meghan, Jamie, Melissa, Amber, and Paige; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law: William, and Fred Jones; and sister-in-law: Louise Jones.

Richard entered the Armed Forces at the age of 18 in April of 1978, and served his country with great distinction, participating in peace keeping in Golan Heights Cyprus Royal 22e Regiment Van Doo's. Richard moved to Newfoundland in 2011 with his wife Alice, where he was a dedicated employee at Barry's Seafood in Cox's Cove. Richard was a highly respected employee, co-worker, and neighbour in Cox's Cove where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, landscaping, and spending quality time with his wife and dog, Marley. Richard, a man of few words, will be sadly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As per Richard's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, instead; a donation can be made in Richard's memory to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13, in Corner Brook, NL.

Rest in peace, Richard. We love you dearly.
