Regina Marie Simms passed peacefully on Friday, April 12th, 2024 at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 66 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 42 years: Carl Simms; children: Sara (Donnie), and Kale (Jalene); her siblings: Bride Locke (Don), Mary Issacs (Bob), Elizabeth Kirby, Pat Mauger (Art), Dorothy Phalan, Ann Kirby, Stella Kirby, Ray Kirby (Jacki), and Clem Kirby (Lou-Anne) Richard Kirby (Bertha); mother-in-law: Sarah Simms; brother-in-law: Stephen Simms (Marlene); and her very close friends: Rita Payne, and Willie Loder.

Regina is predeceased by her parents: Richard and Mary Kirby. Brothers; Tom and Frank Kirby. Brothers-in-law: Rick Forester, Bill Phalan; and father-in-law: Phillip Simms.

Regina was known to her family and friends as Jean. She will be especially remembered for her always radiant smile and always positive attitude. When she walked in a room, it would light up! Even in her most difficult moments, when asked how things were, she would quickly respond with, "Oh, I'm good." Her pride and joy were her family, mainly her two children. After retirement, she enjoyed her art links, quilting, needle, felting, and painting and some lesser activities; but her ultimate interest was her gardening where she received much satisfaction.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel at 1 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 3 PM with Rev. Mickton officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Jean's memory to the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit.
