It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ramona (Mona) McCarthy on July 14, 2025, at the age of 69. Mona passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Mona was born in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland to the late James and Myrtle Glode on August 22, 1955. Mona will be missed for her humour, laughter, and beautiful smile.

Mona is survived by her son Jim McCarthy, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Maddox and Nicole, great- grandchildren George and Grayson, her brothers Alphonse Glode, James Glode (Connie), Gerald Glode (Margie), Con Glode (Susan), sisters, Juanita Glode, Lisa Glode-Dozier (Jimmy), and Cavelle Glode (Keith).

Mona was predeceased by her husband George McCarthy, son William (Billy) McCarthy, parents James and Myrtle Glode, sister and best friend June Lemoine (Donald), sister Florence Robinson, brother John Glode (Ruth), sister-in-law Patricia Glode, and Diane McCarthy, brothers- in- law Rupert Bailey, Larry Robinson, Kevin McCarthy (Barb), as well by niece Sarina Glode and nephews John Glode jr., John Somerville, and Cody Glode.

The family would like to thank the Sunset Community staff located in Pugwash, Nova Scotia for their care and compassion given to Ramona over the years.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
