Pearl Matilda
Park
September 24, 1936 – July 16, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pearl Park announce her passing on July 16th, 2024 at the Western Long-Term Care-Palliative Care Unit at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Randy, Fern, Alvin (Lorraine), Scott (Tina), Rodney (Marina), Quincy (Joni), Noel (Tracey), Floyd (Christina), Phyllis (Edward), Ashley, and Sherri-Lynn (Matt); son-in-law: Monty; 25 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren, with two more on the way; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Pearl was called to be reunited with her husband of 56 years, Stanley Park, whom she missed deeply everyday for the last 15 years. Pearl is also predeceased by her daughters: Darlene, Sandra, Sonia, and Wanda; great-granddaughter: Erica; parents: John and Ellen Jane; parents-in-law: Simon and Amy; daughters-in-law: Margaret, and Marilyn; and sons-in-law: Joseph, and Roland. As the last living sibling, Pearl is also reunited with her brothers and sisters: Bill, Joe, Herb, Mary, Beatrice, Eileen, Susan, and Bridie.
Pearl was a family woman, and even in her last few weeks, she made sure to make memories and to have a few laughs with her loved ones.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Pearl's two home support workers: Marilee, and Ramona, for all of the exceptional care they've provided to our dear mom during her time of need. Not all heroes wear capes, and this was shown during Pearl's stay in the Palliative Care Unit. Thank you to the many doctors, nurses, and staff, who were so great in every way.
There will be a visitation taking place at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox's Cove, on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024 from the hours of 7-9 PM, and again on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Friday, July 19th, 2024 at St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox's Cove, with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Pearl's memory to the St. Nicholas Anglican Church fund in Cox's Cove.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear."
