It is with profound sadness and immense gratitude for a life so beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Paul Quilty, who left this world on Thursday, July 23 at the age of 73. To know Paul was to experience kindness in its purest form. He had an extraordinary gift for giving - not because he expected anything in return, but because helping others was simply who he was. Whether it was offering a helping hand, sharing what he had, giving his time, or providing quiet words of encouragement, he never hesitated to put others before himself. He measured wealth not by what he owned, but by the lives he touched.

His greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted father, brother and friend whose love was unconditional and unwavering. He celebrated the successes of those he loved, carried them through life’s challenges, and taught by example that compassion, humility, and generosity are life’s greatest gifts.

Even during his own struggles, he remained concerned about the well-being of others. His strength was quiet, his heart was enormous, and his impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him will never be forgotten.

Paul leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory: Children (spouse): Trudy Messer (John) and Paul Quilty. Fur-children: His beloved dogs Dee-dee and Angie. Grand fur-babies: Boots and Sage in St. John’s, NL; Eve and "Flo from South Carolina”. Sister/Brothers (and spouses): Carolann (Brian), Brian (Lorraine), Dave (Chris), Ken (Maryann), Rick (Myra), Randy (Sadie), Terry (Mona). He was predeceased by his wife, Ardis Quilty; parents, Michael and Angela Quilty; and brother, Daniel (Dorothy).

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Friday September 25, 2026 at Country Haven Funeral Home in Corner Brook, NL. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in his memory. Please help a neighbor, lend a hand to someone in need, or simply show compassion for a stranger. Nothing would honor him more.
