April 4, 1960 – October 11, 2024
"I was a son,
I was a husband,
I was a father,
I was a carpenter,
I was a good man."
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph "Paul" Marchand announce his passing at the Western Long Term-Palliative Care Unit on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the age of 64 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Pauline; children: Tangie Marchand, and Kim Marchand (Andrew); step-children: Amanda Petrey (James), Angel McCutcheon (Angele), Janice-Rose Dolland (Chance), and Randy Hann (Shelia); his grandchildren: Kayle, Paula, Killian, Jay, Allysa, Breanna, Sheldon, Jaxen, Ethan, and Taliyah; his brother Wayne Marchand (Phyllis); sister: Beverley Storey; brother: Darryl Marchand (Shauna); and sister-in-law: Annette Marchand; as well as a large circle of niece and nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends; especially: Lawrence Samson (Bernadine) .
Paul is predeceased by his parents: Joseph and Shirley Marchand; brothers: Blair Marchand, and John Marchand; grandparents: William D. & Evangeline Marchand, and Raymond J. & Mary Alma Boudreau; parents-in-law: Tom & Rose Targett; sister-in-laws: Darlene Marchand and Kimberly Targett; and brother-in-law: Wendell Storey.
At Paul's request cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place on Monday, October 14th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 in the Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Canon Tanya White officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the family are kindly accepted.
The family would like to give thanks to the staff of the Western Long Term-Palliative Care Unit for their support and care. As well as to: Dr. Ennis, Dr. Ahmad (oncologist), Dr. Greenland (radiologist), Dr. Fleming (palliative care), and Dr Howard (surgeon).
Paul loved spending time and playing with the children. He always had patience and unconditional love for them all. He will be greatly missed. He always said he was lucky man to have his own private nurse, Janice-Rose, who gave her support and love without question.
