It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Patrick Power on August 9th, 2025 at the age of 91 years. He passed peacefully away at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit.

Patrick leaves to mourn his children; Patricia, Susan, Stephen (Isabel) and Philip (Janice). His grandchildren; John (Sarah), Allison (Parrk), Rebecca and Kyle (Laura). His great-grandchildren; Erin and Asher. His sister; Judy and brother; Brian (Paula). As well as, a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many friends.

Patrick was predeceased by his wife; Shirley with whom he had celebrated 69 years of marriage. His parents; Bridget and Otto Power. His brothers; Edward, Gerald, Kevin, George and James (Buzz). His sisters-in-law; Whilhemena (Belle) Power, and Sylvia Robinson. His brothers-in-law; George Hann and Monroe Barry.

In his youth, Patrick was known as a star hockey player with the Humber Hawks. He also curled and played darts. In later years, he worked as a truck driver and retired from CN Terra Transport. He was a skilled carpenter, plumber, and jack-of-all trades. He passed on some of his many skills to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed time spent in the woods hunting and on snowmobile with friends. But mostly he enjoyed his time at the cottage with Shirley and their cabin buddies.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the palliative care unit and emergency department for their kindness and compassion during their father's stay at the hospital.

At Patrick's request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road, Corner Brook NL. on Monday August 11th 2025 from the hours of 2-4PM and 7-9PM. The funeral service will take place at the Country Haven Chapel on Tuesday August 12th 2025 @ 2pm with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

In Patrick's memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Parkinsons Society of Canada.
