Patricia Wilton (née Howell), age 84, of Corner Brook, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 19, 2026.

Born in Curling on December 22, 1941, to John and Rose Howell, Pat was raised in a close-knit family with her eight siblings. She built a life on Petries Street with her husband and three children and is fondly remembered for her exceptional baking and cooking, as well as for hosting friends, family, and neighbours and enjoying celebrations, especially Christmas. Pat worked at the Corner Brook Hospital for many years, assisting the dietitians in providing nourishment for patients. She will be remembered by friends and family for her kindness and generosity and will be deeply missed.

The family extends its sincere thanks to the staff of Western Long Term Care Home, Shoreview Unit, for taking such wonderful care of Pat over the past several years.

Patricia was predeceased by her son, Chesley Caines (Annabel); her sister, Ina Callahan; and her brothers, Bob, John, and George Howell.

She is survived by her daughters, Catherine (Murray) and Joann (Joseph); her sisters, Judy (Nick) and Ruth (Howard); her brothers, Les (Gwen) and Bruce (Marg); and her grandchildren, Ryan and Jamy. 

A special mention goes to her longtime best friend, Patricia Payne, and her close companion at the long-term care home, Rose Brown. Pat will be cherished and missed by many other friends and extended family members.

Flowers are graciously accepted or a dontation in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m. at the Country Haven Chapel with Pastor Terry Grimes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
