Oscar was born in Woody Point and moved to Corner Brook where he found the love of his life, Mildred Canning and they married and made a life of 64 years together. He was employed by the government as an insurance officer for 35 years until he retired at the age of 55 in 1991. He spent countless hours woodworking and making things out in the shed. Various things from bowls, baseball bats and many other pieces of wood were turned to things people admired. He also enjoyed time spent in the woods. Fishing, snowshoeing and enjoying the scenery. There were many family road trips and camping trips down through the years which created many memories and countless laughs. He was a faithful attendee of Westside Tabernacle until his health would no longer allow him to do so. He will be missed very much by all who knew and loved him dearly.

There will be no formal visitation at this time. The funeral service will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday November 2nd 2025 at 2PM with Pastor Terry Grimes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

No flowers by request, instead donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
