It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Nora Lorraine George announce her peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023 at the age of 73 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her sons: Darrell Hoyles of Philippines, Craig Hoyles of Corner Brook, and Brent Hoyles (Krista Park); her daughter: Lisa Hoyles (Jason Atack) of Ottawa; grandchildren: Wanda Regular (John Regular), Steven Hoyles of St. John's, Jacob Coccimiglio of Ottawa, Jaden Gillis, Mia Gillis, Casey Hoyles, Joshua Hoyles and Sarah Hoyles; her brothers: Ron (Ruth) George of Ontario, Norman (Mary) George of Corner Brook, David (June) George of Ontario, Ernest George of Ontario, Tony George of British Colombia, and Edward George of St. John's; her sisters: Geraldine Pierce of Calgary, Betty (Bob) Joyce of Ontario, Shirley White of Alberta, Eva George (Rob) Cole of Corner Brook, Peggy Brake of Corner Brook, Dorothy George of Benoit's Cove; and her special friend, Ben, who has brought the most unexpected friendship, joy and laughter into her life. Thank you, Ben, for this we are forever grateful. Also left to mourn is a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Nora is predeceased by her parents: Charles and Marion George; her sisters: Lena (Ruban) Hause, Ruby (Russ) Boyd, Lilly (Travis) Yates, and Margie (George) Blackstock; her brothers: Hebert (Stacey) George, and Wilf George; sister-in-law Brenda Geroge; and brothers-in-law: Herald Peirce, David White, Bob Brake.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the WMRH-3rd floor unit for their exceptional care and support during this difficult and unexpected illness. Her family will cherish the memories of her loving, kind and caring nature. She always put everyone's needs and comfort above her own.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a funeral service taking place at The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints, Corner Brook, NL, on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Nora's memory to a charity of one's choice.
