Neville James
Turner
December 20, 1936 – October 15, 2021
Neville James Turner, aged 84, passed peacefully on October 15th, 2021 surrounded by family. His passing is a time of deep sadness, but also one of celebration for his long and wonderful life. Neville is survived by Ruth (nee Green) wife of 61 years; daughter Bonnie, her husband David; son Gary and his partner Marcelo; grandson Nicholas (Pop's boy); brother Reginald and sisters Gae, Kathleen and Lorraine. He is predeceased by his daughter Shelley and parents Muriel and Cecil. Neville was born in Howley in 1936. He moved to St. John's where he obtained his education degree before returning to Corner Brook where he met his beloved wife Ruth and raised his family. Neville was an educator at heart, teaching at St. Matthew's and St. Mark's schools in Corner Brook before becoming vice-principal at G.C. Rowe. He was also an avid woodsman, spending many days on the local rivers, lakes and hunting trails. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who crossed his path. We are sincerely grateful to his home caregivers, Natasha and Sylvia, and to the team at the Western Memorial Palliative Care Unit. There will be a private viewing at Country Haven Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Donations to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit are encouraged in lieu of flowers.
