Neville Chamberlain
Doman-Graveside Service
March 6, 1940 – April 30, 2024
On April 30, 2024 Neville Chamberlain Doman passed away peacefully at Linda's Personal Care Home in Gould's, where he lived since 1980. In his final moments two of his personal care worker's, Wanda and Carol, held his hand as a tear rolled down his cheek. A testament to the wonderful caring home in which he lived. He was 84 years old. Neville was the youngest of 5 children born to Maryann and Joseph Roland Doman of Curling. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers: John (Helen), Brooke (Marie), his sisters: Lizzy Codner (Henry) and Enid Rossiter. He is survived by one brother-in-law Raymond Rossiter, numerous nieces, nephews and extended families.
In 1980 Neville left his home in Corner Brook and moved to Goulds where he resided until his passing. For years, until his health would no longer allow him, he would leave his home in Gould's and walk to Ruby Line and then loop back to the home. On his walks he would pick up recyclables, which he would sell, and he wore out a lot of footwear in the process. In his younger years he worked at Canada Post as a sorter and it is said that he could sort faster than 3 workers put together. He was also a very good guitar player, which is probably one of his best kept secrets as very few people knew this about him. Neville was a quiet man of few words who kept to himself. He loved puzzles and had a fantastic memory. Many people have sent condolences to Linda's Personal Care Home saying what a wonderful job he did cleaning the roads in the Goulds and how pleasant and sweet he was to talk to. He will be sadly missed by his good friends and roommate Robert Raymond and by the staff at Linda's Personal Care Home.
On Neville's behalf, Thank you to all the staff at his home who treated him with such wonderful, kind and compassionate care throughout his time there.
There will be a graveside service for Neville taking place on Wenesday, July 10th, 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Curling, NL, with Rev. Mickton officiating. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Neville's memory to a charity of one's choice.
