Obituary

There were things that brought her great joy. Family, of course, was always No. 1. But a life in the great outdoors was also very important to her. In the summer, there were many canoeing and fishing trips with her closest friends and family. In the winter, it was venturing out on snowmobile to the old camp on Clifty Pond, and then later, the cabin on Deer Lake — a home away from home, and all toiled through the hard work of herself, and her beloved Elwood. And while each trip to the woods brought with it adventure, it was also a time for company. She shared so many laughs around a campfire and had so many rows over a game of cards.

Neila Tucker died Monday afternoon. A resilient and stable matriarch of the Tuckers of Meadows, she was 78.

Neila was a scrapper, right to the bitter end. For those who knew and loved her, they expected nothing less.

She leaves to mourn Elwood, her husband of 61 years and her children, Anita Wheeler (Robert), Walter (Sheila), Colin (Michelle) and Pamela Wiseman (Sheldon). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Chérie Wheeler (Troy), Robert Wheeler (Sarah Blais), Nicholas Tucker (Kayla), Maria Tucker (Chris Shreenan), Lucas Tucker (Preanna Jefferies), Brady Anderson (Cassandra), Courtney Fry (Brad), and Nikita Wiseman. Also mourning are great-grandchildren Samuel, Bridget, Alexis, Grace, Reid, Dexter, Lillian, Waylon, and Norah. She will be remembered by siblings, Bill Parsons, Lloyd Parsons (Emma), Garwin Parsons (Stella), Geraldine Collins (Dan), Shirley Pinksen (Eric), Kevin Parsons (Colleen), Tom Parsons (Josephine), Marlene Curlew (Bruce), Christina Parsons, Daphne MacDonald (Reg) and Ron Parsons (Pam), along with brothers- and sisters-in-law, Maxine House, Rowena Wickens (Larry) and Milton House.

Also in mourning are special family members Fred and Alma Lewis and Roy Payne, as well as a large family of nieces and nephews including little Neila Hynes.

Neila is predeceased by her grandson Shannon Tucker; parents, Henry and Amy Parsons; father- and mother-in-law, Leslie and Stella House; sisters-in-law Eudora Parsons, Laura Biggin and Eliza Bragg; and brothers-in-law Albert House and Gordon Bragg.

At Neila's request, cremation has taken place. Friends are welcome to visit the Anglican church in Meadows on Wednesday, January 18 th , 2023 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
