Nathan Ross
Pinsent
January 3, 1946 – April 27, 2024
It is with profound shock, and sadness that the family of the late Nathan Pinsent announce his sudden passing on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at his private residence, in Corner Brook, NL at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his stepchildren: Ben Hough (Jennifer) of B.C., and Sam Hough (Val) of B.C.; grandchildren: Chantelle, Rusty, Savanna, Tyrell, and Skyler, all of B.C.; his sister: Marie Hoyles, of Corner Brook; brothers: Roy Pinsent (Carolyn) of B.C., and Frank Pinsent of O.N.; nephews: Tony Hoyles of Corner Brook, Gord Hoyles (Connie) of Corner Brook, Steve Pinsent of O.N., and Frankie Pinsent of O.N.; nieces: Wanda Morey (Steve) of Corner Brook, Kathy Burton (Steve) of Corner Brook, Cheryl Rhynold (Matt) of O.N., and Susanna Marchesich (Mark) of O.N.; as well as a large circle of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends, especially his close friends: Bonnie Bisio of A.B, and David Longworth of B.C.
Nathan is predeceased by his parents: Edgar and Susanna Pinsent; his wife: Linda Pinsent; and his niece: Cindy House.
You would often hear Nathan say, "I'm the luckiest man in the world," when talking about how he was finally able to come back home to Newfoundland to be with his family. He enjoyed painting, beach combing, thrift store shopping, eating out at some of his favourite restaurants, playing cards, and spending time at the cabin in York Harbour. Nathan was so full of life, and he met many people in the past 7 years whom he held near and dear to his heart. He would often strike up a conversation with a complete stranger while on his daily outings, and was sure to leave a lasting impression on them all.
At his request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held on Monday, May 6th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 at Oakland United Church with Rev. King officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Nathan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
"Their creativity lives on in the beauty they left behind."
Forever in our hearts.
