Minnie Brake passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28th, 2021 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 88 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter, Betty (Archie); and sons, Bob and Walter, all of Gillams; her precious fur baby, Molly; Grandchildren: Tina (Clarence), Michael (Brittany), Gregory (Toni-Lee), Andrew (Leah), Laura (Paul), Kirk (Pam), and Jenny (Pierre); Great-Grandchildren: Marissa, Kiersten and Katie (and their mother, Chantille), Abigail and Aiden, Ashley, Kaitlyn and Riley, Lauren and Luke, James and Kevin, and Rebecca and Reece (and their mother, Deborah); and a large number of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Maitland (2005); her parents Robert and Martha Buffett; Step-father, Garfield Bursey; Mother and Father-in-Law, Robert and Ada Brake; her Daughter-in-Law Lucretia; Brothers-in-Law, Bryant (Hannah), Elliott (Alma), Algon (Geneva), Scott (Florence); and Sister-in-Law, Elizabeth Payne (George). Visitation's will take place will take place at St. James Anglican Church Gillams on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 from the hours 2-4, 7-9 pm and on Sunday, October 31st, 2021 from the hours of 2-4 pm. The funeral service will take place at St. James Anglican Church on Monday, November 1st, 2021 at 2 pm with interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery Cox's Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
