Obituary

Our family chain is broken. With that being said, we have to love and hold our family a little tighter now, with the sudden loss of Michelle Grace Sheppard, at the Health Science Center in St. John's, NL at the age of just 57 years. She leaves to mourn with the most fondest and loving memories, her husband of 37 years: Richard Sheppard; her loving, caring daughters: Erica Sheppard (Dave), and Taylor Sheppard (Lorne); her cherished granddaughters, whom she loved so dearly: Kenzie Sheppard, Ryanne Sheppard, and Letty Sheppard; brothers: Ron (Cindy) of Ontario, Don (Diane) of Ontario, and Rick (Tracy) of Codroy Valley; sisters and brothers-in-law: Cathy Patrick (Derrick) of Manitoba, Betty Jean (Paul Hackett) of Manitoba, Lou Park (Joanne) of New Brunswick, Moses Sheppard of Ontario, Linda Janes of Codroy Valley, George Sheppard (Kate) of York Harbour, and Lee Sheppard (Rowena) of Codroy Valley; as well as her special niece: Amanda Sheppard of Ontario; and a large circle of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends.

Michelle is predeceased by her parents: Ronald Hiscock (2009) and Bernice Hiscock (2012); brother: Gary Hiscock (1996); nephew: Tim Pollard (2011); her mother and father-in-law: Eric Sheppard, and Marie Park; and the parents that raised Rick: Richard and Olive Sheppard.

Michelle was the most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her darts at Myrtle's By the Bay with her dart league buddies and she absolutely loved her weekly card games with her dear and special friends: Joan and Gordon Youden. Michelle will also be dearly missed by her close friend, and taxi driver when Richard worked away, Kim (Manuel) Herritt.

The family wishes to extend a very special and sincere thank you to a very dear and loving friend: Alfred Strickland. Also, a special thank you to the volunteer fire department of York Harbour and Lark Harbour, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, and the Health Science Center in St. John's, as well as the Air Ambulance Team.

As per Michelle's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held at St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour, on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 from the hours of 7-9 PM, which will include a family service; from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, September 13th, 2024 at 2 PM with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sheppard family.
