It is with deeply saddened hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, father, partner, and friend: Michael "Cyril" Bennett; who passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of only 64 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his partner: Doris Day; his cherished daughters: Heather (Conrad), and Jennifer (Dan); their mother: Faye Guinchard; his precious grandchildren: James & Natalie, and Johnathan & Bryson; as well as a little grandson on the way; his mother: Melvina Bennett; sisters: Frances Bennett, Melvina Snow (Don), and Florence Pynn (Kevin); brothers: Danny (Fern), Brian, Barry (Chris), Jim (Kelly), Joe (Cora-Lee); and his good buddies Paul and Murray; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Cyril was predeceased by his father: Ronald Bennett; brothers: Ronald Bennett JR., Tony Bennett, and Lawrence "Larry" Bennett; and his sisters: Linda Foote, Mildred Glover, and Laura Bennett.

Cyril loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be remembered for his friendly personality, great sense of humor, and eagerness to help those around him. Cyril's exceptional work ethic was second to none, but he always made time for telling a few stories, playing pool in the local league and good times spent with friends and family.

On behalf of the Bennett families, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the condolences and support extended to us throughout Cyril's short illness and passing on January 20, 2026. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, social worker, and staff of the WMRH-ICU. Your exceptional care for Cyril was above and beyond, ensuring he was comfortable and well cared for. Also, thank you to Father Edward Terry, for blessing Cyril each day.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Corner Brook RNC, Corner Brook Fire Department, Paramedics, and Emergency Department of WMRH. You are all true heroes!

In following his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place for family and friends on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the Holy Rosary Parish, Pasadena, from the hours of 2-4 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 26, 2026 with Father Patry officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, a donation can be made in Cyril's memory to a charity of one's choice.
