It is with great sadness that the family of the late Merida Lillian Rex announce her passing on Tuesday July 27 ^th , 2021 at the Western Long Term Care Center at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories; her sons, Ron Rex (Brenda), and Jim Rex (Cathy); grandchildren, Tyler Rex (Sarah), Aaron Rex (Jessica), Leslie Rex and Daniel Rex; great-grandchild, Eleanor Rex; brothers, Art Wiseman (Doris), Vernon Wiseman (Nettie), Fred Wiseman (Leah), and Morley Wiseman (Linda); sister-in-law, Mary Wiseman; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Merida was predeceased by her husband, Roy Rex; son, Eric Rex; daughter-in-law Mary; brothers, Herbert and Eugene; sisters, Clara and Edna; and sisters-in-law, Violet and Lucy. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff of the Western Long Term Care Palliative Unit, to 3B of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, and to the staff, past and present, at Mountain View Estates where she resided happily for the past 8 years. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will take place at St. Michael's and all Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive on Friday July 30th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ed King officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, there are no flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation.
