It is with deep love and great sadness that the family announce the passing of Mary Gould, nee Mackenzie, on July 17, 2026, in her 100th year. Mary was a small woman with a big heart. She was loved dearly and will be missed immensely by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Mary was born in Scotland in 1927. She took great pride in her Scottish heritage. She came to Newfoundland in 1946, as a war bride, and eventually settled in Corner Brook in the 1980s.

Mary leaves to mourn her daughter, Heather; granddaughters, Dana (Norm, deceased), Amy (Rod), Karen (Crystal), and Kristen (Dave); grandsons, Michael, Colin (Amanda), Joe (Cindy), and Duncan (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Kaitlin( Colton ) ,Andrew ,Erin , Nicholas,Victoria,David Lilly, Jack, Abby, Alex, and Abby; great-great-granddaughter, Kyla; along with other family and friends, including special friend Patricia Kennedy, and
niece, Sheila Gould.

Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, Michael Gould; her children, Kenneth, Dinah (DonSeymour), Cathy (George Wheeler), and her infant daughter, Jo-Ann and granddaughter Kelly .She predeceased her parents Kenneth and Ducanina Mackenzie and her siblings including her twin sister Isabelle Hewitt.Also pre-deceased by her second husband, Ambrose O’Reilly.

The family would like to thank the staff of Palliative Care, where Mary spent the majority of the past year, for the wonderful care she received. Thanks also to 4 North, Bakeapple Avenue.

There will be no formal service at this time. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scottish Heritage Society of Western NL, or a charity of one’s choice.
