It is with profound sadness that the family of Mary Theresa Bennett announce her peaceful passing on March 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, shortly after celebrating her 76th birthday.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Mike (Susan), Deborah, Keith, Audrey (Todd), Billy (Ann), and unofficial daughter Stephanie (Ty); grandchildren: Michael Jr, Eric, Kelly-Ann (Christopher), Andrew (Brittany), Domonic (Mya), Briana (Albert), Austin, Josh (Bethany), Abigail, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren: Erica, Daemon, Quincey, Oliver, Malakai, and Piper.

Also mourning the loss are her sisters: Linda, Barb and Tina; brother: Kevin; step-father Fintan; her fur baby sidekick: Suzie; and many, many other family and friends.

She loved her family and looked forward to simple pleasures like being treated to an Iced Capp or a McDonald's ice cream cone, having a game of crib, or enjoying a cup of tea with family. She also lived for the excitement of the next Shopping Channel Showstopper.

Mary was well known for her ability to make anyone laugh with her unexpected and unpredictable humor because you never knew what she would say or do. Her smile was warm and infectious, and her kindness will always be remembered.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Leon, Dr. Bergstrom, Lindsay Bursey NP, Adrian Miguel NP, and anyone on the Transitional Unit CBCHC, 4NA HSC, 4N CBLTC and 5N WMRH for helping her try to hold onto her beautiful life just a little longer.

There will be a visitation taking place for family and friends on Friday, March 27th, 2026 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 7-9 PM, and again at 10 AM on Saturday, March 28th, 2026 from where the funeral will take place at 11 AM with Bishop Bart van Roijen officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Mary's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Ronald McDonald House.
