It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Marie Louise Luther announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother at the age of 74 years. She passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital with her daughter by her side. She will be sadly missed, fondly remembered and forever cherished by her husband of nearly 50 years David; children: Bradley (Shelly), Rayna (Donny); grandchildren: Ethan and Gavin; siblings: Dominic Augustus (Bud) Rousseau (Mary), Loretta O'Neill (Tom); sister-in-law: Lorraine Milley (Bill) and Donna Luther; As well as many nieces, nephew, friends and extended family. She was predeceased by her father: Joseph Rousseau, mother: Genevieve Boulos Rousseau and brother: Joseph Henry Rousseau.

Marie Louise was known for her unconditional love of her family, pleasant demeanour, positive attitude, sheer determination, love of shopping and love of everything about Christmas including her delicious Lebanese cooking. She was loved and respected by anyone who crossed her path. She was very proud to be a registered nurse and dedicated almost 40 years to Western Memorial Regional Hospital. She would always talk about her fond memories of her many years as a Nursing Instructor, her colleagues who turned into best friends and the many nurses she encountered over the years that she was so proud to be part of shaping their career. In her last few weeks, the nurses at WMRH on 3C, 3D and the Intensive Care Unit, many of whom were her former students, took excellent care of her and it was common to hear conversations about their fond memories of her as their instructor. Even as a patient, she would encourage the less experienced nurses, offer them words of guidance and encouragement and anyone who knew her would appreciate that she wasn't shy to point out something if they weren't doing it right. The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Dr. R.P O'Driscoll and Gertie Skeard, Dr. Sam Aseer, Dr. Jennifer Chaulk, Dr. Krista Fudge and Dr. Stephen Murphy. Their expertise, compassion and patience will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a private service for the family to take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
