It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Colbourne announces her passing at the WLTC Palliative Care Unit on March 18, 2026 at the age of 86 years.

Marie devoted many years of her life to raising and caring for children. She first stepped up to care for Phrona, who was like a daughter to her, and lovingly raised her two daughters, Deana and Sharon. Later, she continued that devotion by raising her granddaughter, Natasha.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Sharon; her chosen daughter, Phrona (Allan) Murphy; her granddaughter Natasha (Dean); her great-granddaughters Jaida (Tommy) and Jamielyn; her sister Ivy (Carl) Gonzalez of Schertz, Texas; her brother Ross (Melinda); son in law Paul Keetch; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Rita; her daughter Deana; her brothers Roy and his wife Joan; and George and his wife Jean and her beloved cat, Pudders.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Marie during her lengthy stay especially the WLTC palliative care unit. A special thank you is extended to Linda Heath, who was a devoted caregiver to Marie over the last couple of years.

In following with Marie's wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or service. An interment will take place at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 at Mount Patricia Cemetery with Pastor Jamie Rowsell officiating. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Marie's memory to the WMRH Foundation Cuddle Bed Project.
