We are deeply grateful to everyone who expressed condolences through visits, phone calls, cards and many gifts of food. Thank-you to Rev. Mickton for your beautiful service. A sincere thank-you to Dwayne and staff at Country Haven for their kindness and care of mom. It meant so much to us. All the kindess from everyone was more than words can express.

It is with great sadness the family of the late Margaret Matthews announce her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care on Sunday February 15th 2026 at the age of 94 years.  She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children; Marjorie Hamilton, Harold (Marilyn), Arthur (Rose), Marilyn Stanford (Howard), Raymond (Alma), Violet Matthews, David (Michele), and Carol Anderson (Ike).  Her grandchildren; Richie, Andrew, Patrick, Wendy, Amanda, Robbie, Julie, Brad, Angela, Tracey, Ian, Kelly, Stacey, Alicia, Justin, Emily and their spouses. Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a large circle of friends. Also, her sister-in-law; Minnie Matthews.

She is predeceased by her husband; Otto, son; Allan, Sister; Naomie Critch (Harvey), Carrie Penney (Walter). Brother-in-law; Ed Matthews. Nieces; Kay Chan and Alita Osmond. Nephew; Doug Matthews. And son-in-law; Phil Herritt.

There will be a visitation at Country Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday February 17, 2026 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday February 18th 2026 @ 2PM in the Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickton officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. There will be no flowers by request. Donations in Margaret's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.

The family would like to pass along special thanks to the staff at Corner Brook Long Term Care – 2 South both past and present. Mom was treated with much kindness. Thanks to Dr. Dave Coleman for his many years of excellent care.
